Because of the disappearance of the collective financing of innovation driven research through the producktship horticulture, there is a lot of pressure on development of knowledge. 

Growers and grower organizations are reaching out to prevent the flow of knowledge and innovations to dry up. On top of that The Wageningen University has picked up the glove by developing an initiative in witch horticultural suppliers contribute to the continuity of the applied-strategic research in The Netherlands.
